AI-enriched automatic review: suggested clips after every live

Rewatching a five-hour live to get three clips out of it takes an evening. The automatic review does the first pass: once the VOD analysis is done, suggested clips are waiting for you, and you pick.

What it does

The automatic review goes through the VOD of a live and suggests clips: each with a title, a description, hashtags, a vertical preview that already has subtitles, and the reason it was picked.

Nothing is published without you. derush.tv suggests, and every decision is yours.

When the analysis starts

On the Pro plan, the full analysis can start on its own after every live, once the VOD is available on Twitch. The Full analysis after every live setting is off by default: you turn it on in the channel settings, and you can turn it off at any time. You can also start an analysis by hand on an older VOD, from the Automatic tab of the review panel. When you start it, you choose the whole VOD or only some parts: only the chosen hours are counted.

During the analysis, you can close the page: it keeps going, and the tab shows its real progress when you come back. The VOD has to be public on Twitch: a subscriber-only VOD cannot be analysed.

Reading a suggested clip

Once the analysis is done, the Automatic tab opens the page of suggested clips. The first clip shows large: the VOD excerpt, and next to it the vertical preview, with subtitles, as it will come out.

Under the players, the clip reads in a few seconds:

  • A title, written for the clip.
  • An info line: the moment in the VOD, the kind of passage (gameplay, reaction, story...), the duration and the score out of 100, then the reason for the pick in one sentence.
  • What backs it up, as a few ticks, for example "Stands alone" or "Ends cleanly".

The Suggested clips strip lists every clip of the VOD, and the arrow keys move from one to the next. A very rich VOD can have More suggested clips, beyond the number suggested for its length. Not sure, but worth a look gathers the clips the AI hesitates on, and Other passages the strong moments that were not kept as clips.

Render as is, or retouch

Each suggested clip has its buttons, under the players:

  • Render as is makes the vertical video exactly as the preview shows it, without going through the Studio. The .mp4 file downloads once the render is done.
  • Formatting adds an intro, what stays on screen during the clip and an outro: blurred opening, top title, channel signature, follow call... The vertical preview changes right away. Kept for every clip, it also dresses up the clips of your next lives.
  • Edit opens the clip in the Studio, where every element can be retouched: cut, add a sound, change the title style.
  • Keep and Discard sort the list. The "..." menu copies the title, or the description and its hashtags, to paste them on TikTok, YouTube Shorts or Instagram Reels.

The limits, plainly

  • On the Pro plan, up to 100 hours of VOD analysed a month. A VOD that does not fit in the hours left waits for the next month, or is analysed on some parts only.
  • The 3 free full analyses every channel gets suggest clips too.
  • A failed analysis counts nothing: neither your hours nor your free analysis.
  • The automatic review is in beta. It gets things wrong sometimes, which is why it suggests and you choose.
  • A VOD with no strong moment can give no suggested clip. The page says so, and its passages stay below.

Frequently asked questions

Does the automatic review publish my clips on its own?

No. It suggests clips: nothing is rendered, downloaded or published without a click from you.

Do I need editing skills?

No. Render as is gives a subtitled vertical video without opening the Studio. The Studio is there if you want to cut, add a sound or change the title.

How many clips for one live?

It depends on the length of the live and on what happens in it. A very rich VOD has more clips; a VOD with no strong moment can have none.

And without the Pro plan?

Every channel gets 3 free full analyses, with suggested clips, to try it on its own VODs. Beyond that, you need the Pro plan.
